For eight consecutive years, my daughters Elizabeth (class of 2012) and Jacqueline (class of 2016), aka Liz and Jackie, attended the State University of New York at Binghamton, aka Binghamton University. For eight years, my wife and I made the frequent 190-mile drive across the Catskill Mountains, a region where the atmospherics called for long stretches of listening to Dylan CDs to keep my attention focused. The girls didn’t always like this. After an hour or so, we’d listen to other things. But this is the story of a solo drive, because Dylan was on one of his generous play-anytown college tours. Liz bought a pair of tickets, I drove up, and we went to the show. Previously unpublished, except on my old Blogger blog Wayne’s Words, and on Substack during Sept. 2021, when we had under 500 subscribers. Language informal.
