I took a few days off so I could perform in the role of grandpa much of the week, which meant my family and I could enjoy the record-breaking heat 220 miles north of New York, in Bolton Landing on Lake George, NY. We had a great time, of course, even better that my daughter Liz paid for it all. I thought we could do with some counter-programming and go back just 13 years to Super Bowl XLV (45) in 2011. The question has come up lately what Substack is, and whether what is written here are “blogs.” I was an early adapter of Blogger, starting in 2002 and kept it going for about a dozen years. Blogger cost $35 to join at the time, then it got purchased by Google, which could afford to cut the fee. As a thank you, I got a Blogger hoodie sweatshirt, which was a nice touch.
