A decade-and-a-half ago I made the trek to New Orleans from Queens, NY. It was one of the last trips taken when I had the ability to walk. I'm less mobile now, but can still remember the lights, crowds, food, sights, smells, and everything - especially the music. Bourbon Street was alive with music. Though I always preferred 60s rock & soul over any R&B, when it came to live music - I loved it all. Found WWOZ ..... listening to Snooks Eagen's "Travelin' Mood".

Thank you, Abby. By New Orleans r&B, I mean "rock and soul" as your ears will tell you when you listen to more WWOZ.

I added it to my other 2 stations i go to...WFUV and The Peak 107 (NY). Recommendations are always accepted. P.S. We met a couple of times while you were at Newsday (I also interviewed you). Besides Watkins Glen, meeting ELO, meeting hundreds of the most famous and/or talented bands on the planet, interning for WLIR, meeting Kate Bush (and becoming the keynote speaker at a fan club convention) and doing PR, I'm still enjoying so much new music (though not as much as in the old days). Best....!
